Set on the owners’ smallholding on the ancient Roman road of Watling Street, and with wonderful walking on the Shropshire Way footpath on the doorstep, they sit 1 mile from the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre and 3 miles from Stokesay Castle – there is even a play barn only 100 yards away. Cycle hire is available locally and the National Trust’s 5,000 glorious acres of Long Mynd and Carding Mill Valley are a short drive. Craven Arms, 1 mile offers shops, pubs and a railway station.

Reviews
The location is perfect, just outside the main street at Craven Arms. The Old Dairy is perfect for old, young and diabled. With many attractions in a 50 mile radius, there wasn't too much driving to do. We took our parents all in their 80s (1 disabled), the property was friendly for all ages. We are now thinking of taking the grandchildren so much room for them to play inside and out. We all enjoyed it so much that the parents are already looking forward to going back. Parking the car and motorcycle outside was great, easy access and plenty of room for maneuvouring and not in view of passing traffic. The Arden family should be congratulated for their welcome, generosity and well maintained property, hope it doesn't change and stays rural with no unnecessary changes like hot tubs etc which would take away the rustic feel which is natural to to enviroment.

Peaceful, uncrowded and still largely devoted to farming, this is one of England’s most unspoilt counties, as you’ll discover during a break in one of our holiday cottages in Shropshire. Take a walk on the Long Mynd a dramatic ridge which stands high over the landscape, then pop in to the small village of Church Stretton which nestles in the valley below for a hearty tea.
The county town of Shrewsbury sits on a hill almost completely surrounded by a loop in the river Severn. Here you’ll find Elizabethan timber-framed buildings and handsome Georgian terraces. Shropshire even has its own centre of gastronomy in the charming town of Ludlow, which boasts a number of Michelin starred restaurants as well as a profusion of specialist food shops. The splendid Norman castle at Ludlow is also well worth a visit, as is nearby Stokesay Castle, both within a short drive of our holiday cottages in Shropshire.
Seeing Shropshire today it’s hard to believe it was actually the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. You can see where it all started at Ironbridge Gorge. Don’t miss Blists Hill, which recreates life at the turn of the twentieth century.
